This super-adventurous jam-packed expedition will expose you to the authentic food, landscape and wild jungles of remote Guatemala. This itinerary spans multiple biomes, from a cloud forest to the driest location in all of Central America. One of Daniel Solis' favorites, this expedition tours three national preserves (Reserva Natural Ranchitos del Quetzal, Reserva Natural Heloderma and Reserva Natural Los Tarrales). This maximizes the opportunity to see some of the world's rarest vipers and other reptiles in their natural habitats, even endangered species. You will also see many beautiful birds, such as the Quetzal and Toucanets, and an active volcano. Tour participants will engage directly with scientists to better understand the animals and ongoing preservation efforts. Herping is offered nightly. Please note some locations are high altitude.
