One of the most adventurous itineraries we offer, this Borneo-Indonesia trip will take you to see some of the world's most wild and incredible beings. Get up close to the Komodo Dragon by day, while living on a large and comfortable private boat by night. Enjoy food by a private chef as you watch the sun set and rise from your home on the sea. In Borneo, trek to see wild Orangutans in their natural and undisturbed habitat. Previous trips were successful in spotting mothers as they cared for, and carried, their beautiful young. This is trip is rated as "ultra-adventurous," which means most activities on the itinerary require significant physical endurance. At minimum, participants should be able to walk at least five (5) miles in high humidity and heat while carrying their own equipment and water.
This expedition will take you through cloud forest (wet rainforest at high altitude), jungle (high temperatures and high humidity), and urban landscape
Accommodations on this trip are primarily comfortable, which are hotel or hotel-type rooms that sleep two (2) persons, feature private bathrooms and climate control. There are two nights which are rustic, spent at a scientific outpost facility. Rustic accommodations feature shared living quarters and bathroom, limited or no climate control, and limited or inconsistent electricity.
