Daniel Solis founded Jungle Diaries in 2015. Since then, he has led nearly 1,000 people on over 100 trips across 12 countries and five continents.

Daniel spent a lifetime in the wilds of the world, beginning with his childhood in remote El Salvador. Over decades, he formed unbreakable bonds with the wilderness and its native inhabitants. Today, Daniel regularly speaks throughout the US on topics of animals, travel and photography. His photographs are published in multiple books and definitive guides on reptiles and amphibians, sold in several languages worldwide. He further leverages his time spent in the field to identify and report upon the conditions of rare and exotic animals. This has led to his participation in, and being named co-author on, multiple scientific papers and publications.

Daniel lives in California with his eleven tortoises, two sheep, three dogs and two pigs. He is constructing an eco-lodge in Sarapiqui, Costa Rica. He looks forward to welcoming you to the untamed and protected property beginning in 2024. Email Daniel at daniel@junglediaries.net
